🌏 Discover how Uber Eats conducts global research in international markets to improve the experience for delivery partners and get people their chicken wings (or chana masala) faster.

Uber started in 2010 to solve a simple problem: how do you get access to a ride at the touch of a button? But, in the last 11 years, we have evolved to be a platform that moves people, food, and things through cities. Today, let's talk a little bit more about food!

Uber Eats operates in hundreds of cities globally across 45 countries. But what are our unique challenges? How do changes in cultural and geographical contexts impact delivery? What does research look like for us? How do we discover the differing needs and pain points of delivery partners across markets? How does the research team collaborate across functions and impact UX for delivery partners? Come find out!

🎓 SPEAKER

Minal works as a Senior User Experience Researcher at Uber in San Francisco. She started at Uber 4.5 years ago in their Bangalore office with a focus on growth in the Indian market and later moved on to exploring the question of how Uber can be made accessible to riders in emerging markets. In 2018, she moved to Uber Eats in San Francisco to  focus on trip experience for delivery people globally. Today, she leads research for Uber Eats’ delivery people and marketplace.

Minal has an educational background in design and has worked with companies like Samsung and IBM Research in the past. She has conducted research in countries like India, the United States, Brazil, Singapore, Costa Rica, Ukraine, Mexico and the UK in the past and is thrilled about the ways user research can impact product and design strategy, especially in global contexts.
